VIBASS.4
València International Bayesian Summer School (VIBASS.4) is the Fourth edition of the summer school on Bayesian Statistics to be held from 12 to 16 July 2021 in València (Spain). This year’s edition allows for both on-site and on-line participation. This summer school offers the opportunity to be introduced into Bayesian statistical learning without previous knowledge in the subject.
The five days of VIBASS are organised in three parts:
The first two days include a basic course on Bayesian learning (12 hours), alternating conceptual and practical sessions with R packages.
The second part is dedicated to an issue of current interest in Bayesian research. This edition is dedicated to Bayesian computing with R-INLA. This 12 h course is provided by Håvard Rue, founder of the INLA development team, Professor of Statistics and Principal Investigator of the Bayesian Computational Statistics and Modeling (BAYESCOMP) group, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and Janet van Niekerk, Post-Doctoral fellow In Statistics at KAUST.
The last day is devoted to the Fourth VIBASS Workshop. It includes two plenary sessions, with invited speakers researchers Paula Moraga (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KAUST) and David Rosell (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain). The workshop ends with a wide poster session with contributions of the participants in the school.
VIBASS.4 is organized by the VAlència BAyesian Research group (VABAR) and supported by Universitat de València, Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS) and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD).
