Do you want to boost up your academic knowledge of STEM – science, technology, engineering, mathematics – during the summer break, and create social networks and memories? Jyväskylä Summer School offers you a unique academic, cultural and personal journey and gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself, develop your skills and pushes you forward towards a successful career in your field of interest. You also get the chance to spend time in an international science community.

Jyväskylä Summer School, organized this year for the 30th time, offers courses for advanced Master’s students, PhD students and post-docs in various fields of natural sciences, mathematics and information technology. Students from all over the world are encouraged to apply. Jyväskylä Summer School provides students with an excellent opportunity to participate in a large number of courses and benefit from high-quality interdisciplinary teaching by respected researchers from all over the world. All courses are taught in English.

NB! The Jyväskylä Summer School of 2021 will be arranged in hybrid mode. The amount of possible contact teaching and online teaching will be determined according to the Covid-19 pandemic situation in August. Any new information related to the Covid-19 situation and its effects will be informed to applicants and updated on our website (www.jyu.fi/jss). Please note that participating in online summer school courses is possible regardless of the pandemic situation. In case the Covid-19 situation will not allow us to organize any physical event, the summer school will take place entirely online.

Participation in the Summer School courses is free of charge. If the summer school can be arranged on campus, students are responsible for covering their own meals, accommodation and travel costs as well as possible visa costs.
