Dear colleagues,

We hope that by now you have heard of FORTHEM, which is an alliance of seven universities supported by the European Commission’s European Universities initiative.

To get an overview of FORTHEM and the European Universities initiative you can browse through the following websites:

In order to introduce how you can benefit from FORTHEM and to give you a chance to meet colleagues working in the same discipline as you at the other FORTHEM universities, we are organising a “FORTHEM Speed Dating” event on Thursday, 20th May  at 3-5pm CET / 4-6 pm EET, in the fields of CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING. This online event will give you information on concrete cooperation possibilities within FORTHEM and allow you to meet potential partners to network with.

FORTHEM invites all university members to get involved in the Alliance activities. We encourage all teachers and researchers to find out what FORTHEM has to offer and to consider, for example, the following forms of cooperation:

  • Adding an international component to your classes by collaborating with groups in the other universities
  • Detecting possible areas for research collaboration
  • Developing joint Horizon 2020 projects
  • Developing shared tutored projects with colleagues for alliance students
  • Setting up guest lectureshipswithin the FORTHEM network (Erasmus+       funding)
  • Organising and participating in joint staff weeks
  • Developing joint e-learning courses for our FORTHEM Digital Academy
  • Developing ideas for future joint & multiple degree programmes

The “FORTHEM Speed Dating” event will take place online.

In order to access our FORTHEM Speed Dating webpage with more information about the event, access the event itself, and find proposals and bio-notes from colleagues looking to collaborate in the areas of research or teaching, you are asked to fill in a  Registration Form registration by 18 May. The link to the webpage will be sent to the e-mail address you provided in the form.

If you wish you can also share a short bio-note to be posted on the event webpage. This way participants will be able to identify potential collaboration partners already before the event.
