Despite the epidemic and previously unknown administrative challenges, the Diversity and Migration lab is pursuing scientific cooperation within the FORTHEM alliance. On Monday and Tuesday, 10th and 11th May 2021 we invite you to a meeting on the progress of activities in the workshop conducted by colleagues from the University of Palermo: at 15.00 and 9.00 respectively. A detailed meeting plan is available at this address:  https://www.unipa.it/progetti/forthem/First-progress-meeting-of-Diversity-and-Migration-Lab-FORTHEM/

The Diversity and Migration Lab conducts interdisciplinary research from an intersectional perspective. The team includes lawyers, sociologists, cultural experts, linguists, ethicists and visual arts artists, but the formula is open and experimental, so it is still possible to join the projects.

We draw students’ attention to the prepared winter school in Jyvaskyla  (‘Winter  school  on  Belonging and Non-Belonging in Europe’) and to the idea of the ‘open space for students’, which will be talked about on Tuesday by Robert  Solim (UniPa) and Marcin Deutschmann (UO). The latter is the aftermath of FORTHEM week of short mobility, ‘Prospering in Academia’, organized by UO.

Researchers may be interested in the publication on migration prepared by Professor Francesco Lo  Piccolo (UniPa; Monday), a special panel of the conference in Opole (Mon.), and a research and artistic project, the ‘Migrant Media Collection’, which will be presented by Dr. Michał Wanke (Tuesday).

To attend the meeting, please register at this address: https://forms.office.com/r/buhzPuAtnA

Should you have any questions about the meeting and activities of the Lab, we are happy to answer – Michal Wanke (michal.wanke@uni.opole.pl), coordinator of the local research lab, UO.
